It's Still A Wonderful Life
The NW Seattle Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain & Chronic Fatigue Support Group is a gathering of diverse people who have drawn together because of common opponents: Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain & Chronic Fatigue. The group shares responsibilities, with various members rising up to help in different areas as needed, not being lead by one person in particular but letting each one take the helm in areas of expertise or desire.
Group Purpose: an opportunity for people with Fibromyalgia and their friends and family to come together for fellowship, coffee, lunch, or just to visit.
Please Note: If you are new to the group or are inviting any new fibro-sufferers or their family, please know that food allergies should not be a problem. The restaurant's menu is customizable and quite diverse. In addition to that, if anyone's severity of food allergies prohibits public restaurant food consumption, the manager is understanding of home-brought nourishment.
Time: Thursdays,11:30am - 2:30pm *Arrive whenever you're able and leave whenever you need to. We are typically seated towards the back, either in the middle section or on the left in-between the corner windows.*
While we meet regularly on Thursdays (except on holidays), we also meet occasionally in other social settings. In addition, we have a private group blog for the purpose of education & as place where we can stay in touch with one another even when we can't do so physically. It is a place to pass on personal news, helpful hints, recommendations, invitations, and to provide yet another source of support to one another. Most of all, it is a place to remind each other that despite our many aches & pains, trials & tribulations: It Is Still A Wonderful Life that we lead here in beautiful Pacific North-West!
Mission: To enhance the lives of people living with fibromyalgia by creating a support system that will promote understanding and acceptance through communication and wellness education.
Goals: (1) to create a local network of people living with fibromyalgia (2) to offer each other support and understanding through interactions with others who have fibromyalgia; (3) to help spread awareness through education within our group and to those around us about fibromyalgia and how it affects our lives.
