These are the illnesses for each colour:

Blue - Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) sometimes shown as ME/CFS

            Purple - Fibromyalgia (FM)

Green - Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) or Lyme

We'll all be winners but there will be bragging rights awarded to the country with the most photos in each of these categories:

2. # of Private Residences

The contest will be coordinated by Jack Elliott and photos and final results posted on the May 12th International Awareness Day page www.facebook.com/may12th.awareness. To enter, photos should be taken and sent to Jack Elliott at info@may12th.org. All pictures must be emailed by May 31st to be included. Contact Person: Hannah McGehee
Email:   livingfibromyalgia@gmail.com
Website:  http://www.livingfibromyalgia.com
Event Name: Living Fibromyalgia: Communicating Chronic Pain through Narrative and Creative Expression
Event Description: "This exhibition explores lived experiences of fibromyalgia, a chronic pain and fatigue diagnosis without known cause, definitive diagnostic test, or cure. In the past, to be diagnosed with fibromyalgia was to be told that your pain was purely psychological. Although this is no longer the dominant perspective, research has not yet sufficiently explained the physical symptoms of fibromyalgia to completely legitimize the diagnosis in either medical or social terms. Patients continue to struggle with disbelief from healthcare providers, family members, friends, and often themselves. In turn, all aspects of life are influenced by the diagnosis, from social relationships to employment to identity. Living Fibromyalgia examines how patients create and communicate their experiences with the diagnosis through narrative and creative expression. The exhibition also aims to educate medical providers and the public about the lived experiences of fibromyalgia in order to encourage better care, awareness, and understanding. The exhibitions, featuring creative work and narratives by fibromyalgia patients from around the US, will be open to the public from May 12 to June 16, 2015. The exhibition opening will take place on May 12th at 6:30pm in the Student Art Gallery; this event is free and open to the public."

One of the greatest challenges of this syndrome is the lack of awareness and visibilty, as a result the National Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain association has launched this year's theme: Your Voice Matters, YOU make Fibromyalgia Visible. Your participation in this walk will help us MAKE FIBROMYALGIA VISIBLE.

While many walks have taken place across the country to support our work, this is the 1st annual walk in NYC. Our goal is to help bring the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain community together.

The NYC Caterpillar Walk will take place on Saturday May 9th.
