National Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Association website now available in 50 languages
LOGAN, Utah—(7 July 2011)—In keeping with their mission to create a global community and transform lives, the National Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Association today announced that information on their website is now available in over 50 languages.
In addition, the NFMCPA also launched their Globe of Courage on Facebook (facebook.com/nfmcpa). The Globe of Courage is a digital revolving globe of submitted images of everyday people living with FM and chronic pain.
“The National Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Association is proud to extend patient advocacy beyond borders and provide information and resources, vital to those suffering from fibromyalgia and chronic pain, to our global community,” said JanFavero Chambers, president and founder of the NFMCPA. “These two new projects also aim to bring attention to the worldwide impact of chronic pain both socially and economically.”
Fibromyalgia (FM) is a complex illness with chronic pain as its hallmark symptom. Other major symptoms are: sleep disturbances, fatigue,dyscognition (fibro fog), stiffness, anxiety, and physical dysfunction. Overlapping conditions, or co-existing with FM include: chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), irritable bowel (IBS), temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD), chronic prostatitis/interstitial cystitis (IC), neck and low back pain, multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), restless leg syndrome (RLS), primary , dysmenorrhea, headache, myofascial pain syndrome, and endometriosis.
